Job Description:

Summary: Implements and manages all general ledger, accounts payable, and purchasing activities and provides assistance to the Executive Director and other ACN Directors, including board activities, training activities, and facility and IT-related issues, by performing the following duties.


Required: Three years working in an office with at least one year of bookkeeping experience. Must be pleasant, hardworking and able to work independently and with a team. Must be fluent in Spanish – reading, writing and speaking.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties as assigned.

  • Implements and manages all accounting activities under the direction of the Executive Director.
  • Deposits all income/accounts receivables.
  • Cuts checks and manages all accounts payables.
  • Manages purchasing requests and submits to Executive Director for approval.
  • Monitors office and therapy inventories and prepares purchase requests for Executive Director’s approval to maintain these supplies.
  • Maintains general ledger and performs all appropriate financial reconciliation procedures including cash and A/R reconciliations.
  • Designs, implements and maintains an adequate system of internal accounting controls.
  • Assists Executive Director with treasury, cash management and cash forecasting activities.
  • Works with Executive Director and Development Director to establish and meet donor reporting requirements.
  • Assists Clinic Director and Director of Training and Research with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Answers phone calls regarding training questions.
  • Schedules Hands-On Training courses, including maintaining wait lists.
  • Handles all questions and issues regarding training programs (Professional Training Series; Parent/Caregiver Workshop Series), including registration, reserving/preparing rooms, and contacting participants about payment and refunds.
  • Contacts attendees about cancelled training classes and getting them rescheduled as needed.
  • Prepares rooms for the workshops (tables, chairs, projector, screen, all documents, names tags, etc.)
  • Enters training data into training databases after each training session is completed.
  • Answers Spanish speaking phone calls and schedules Spanish speaking patients.
  • Translates ACN documents and reports into Spanish, as needed.
  • Manages outgoing mail, including delivering to post office.
  • Manages facility and IT-related requests/issues.

High School Degree (College Preferred);

At least one (1) year’s accounting experience (3 years Preferred);

Bilingual – Spanish/English


Language Ability:

Must be bilingual (English & Spanish). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization.


Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point software; Spreadsheet software; and QuickBooks accounting software required.



Full time position.  $37,000 a year plus benefits, PTO and holidays.
