Cynthia R. Mitchell, chairwoman of the 2010 Crystal Charity Ball, reports that philanthropists Annette and Harold Simmons have donated $1 million to this year's ball, marking the 30th consecutive year the Simmonses have been Crystal Charity Ball underwriters and the fourth time they have given $1 million.

"Annette and Harold Simmons are an inspiration to our committee," Mitchell said. "Their generosity in Dallas is unsurpassed, and the children of Dallas continue to benefit from their philanthropy."

The ball benefits six children's charities with a collective need of $4.1 million: Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, Children's Medical Center Dallas, Dallas Children's Advocacy Center, Parkland Foundation, Texas Home Access Fund and the Family Place.
