Kenedy County gets $550,000 for recreation

The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department awarded a $271,431 park grant to match with county funds and a $100,000 donation from the Robert and Helen C. Kleberg Foundation.

The money will fund utilities and irrigation. Restrooms will be repaired. The park will get an access path, a shuffleboard and horseshoe toss pit, an observation kiosk, lighted baseball field, covered multi-sport facility, bleachers, an announcer’s box, playground, picnic tables with grills, benches and landscaping, according to Texas Parks and Wildlife.
