Thrill-Seekers to Rappel Down 20-Story Embassy Suites in Downtown Houston for Special Olympics Texas

WHO:                     Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) – Greater Houston Area and the Law Enforcement Torch Run      Individuals who raised between $1,200 and $2,200 will go over the edge and rappel down the 20-story Embassy Suites in downtown Houston. Over the Edge is hosted by The Law 

Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), SOTX’s largest grass-roots fundraiser. The event benefits nearly 10,000 SOTX athletes in the Greater Houston Area.


VISUALS: Participants will rappel down a 20-story building with assistance from the SWAT team and Over the Edge rope experts. Assistant Houston Police Chief Mark Curran, Harris County

Sheriff Ron Hickman and SOTX athletes Ashley Billard and Katherine Richards are serving as honorary co-chairs for the event and will be among the many that will attempt to conquer their fear

of heights. Radio personalities Dana Tyson of Sunny 99.1 and 94.5 The Buzz’s Rod Ryanwill also go Over the Edge.

       3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – VIP Reception/Rappelling


Saturday, Oct. 15

       8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Rappelling
