#studio visit : Stephanie Patton


#studiovisit is a series of blog posts offering you a look inside the studios of artists Lawndale works with throughout the year. Stephanie Patton's exhibition, Synthetic Happiness, on view in the Project Space through February 28, 2015, explores issues of mental health, medical treatment and their impact on us though multi-media works including large-scale, padded, white vinyl pieces, quilted mattress pieces and video works which allude to various emotional states.

Lawndale Art Center Call for Exhibition Proposals  

Deadline: March 15, 2015


LawndaleArtCenter is currently accepting proposals from artists and curators to be reviewed by Lawndale's Programming Committee for exhibitions to be scheduled between August 2015 and May 2016, including exhibitions during the 2016 FotoFest Biennial

Proposals are accepted online via There is no fee to submit a proposal. 
Please visit to create a free account. This will allow you to return and monitor the status of your submissions. You only need to do this step the first time you submit. We strongly encourage you to apply early. Design Fair 2015: Learn. Shop. Connect.

April 20 - 26, 2015


Design Fair 2015 features examples of cutting-edge contemporary design, as well as vintage modern objects of the 20th century. A wide selection of carefully curated items will be available for purchase as part of the Design Fair, including furniture, glass, ceramics, lighting, books, metalwork and fashion. Visitors to the Fair will be able to meet the designers and exhibitors for an up-close and personal look at the pace-setting designs of today and the mid-20th century.

The Texas Co-Op, a special section of the Fair, features individual Texas-based designers offering one-of-a-kind products. These new and emerging product lines currently are in small-scale production and represent innovations in industrial and object design today.
