KaileighProject MEND helped my daughter!

Lariah is 5 years old. She lives with disabilities that are the result of a Mitochondrial Disorder. Skeletal muscle is the primary target of Lariah's mitochon...drial dysfunction. Lariah has no head or torso control, and has weakness throughout her body. She requires maximum assistance to maintain a static sitting position.
Project MEND, through a grant from Charity Ball, provided an assistive device called a Tomato Chair, for Lariah. The Tomato Chair provides her with the extreme level of support that she needs.
Lariah's mom says that if not for Project MEND she would not be able to afford a piece of medical equipment such as this. Though she has insurance, and her Doctor wrote an order for the equipment, certain pieces are not covered by her insurance. Project MEND was able to fill that gap. She is grateful for Project MEND, and we are thankful for the opportunity to help Lariah and her Mom have as much mobility and independence as possible.

 Volunteer Day!

Volunteer Day a HUGE Success

Thank you to all our volunteers from Central Catholic on Saturday, February 14, 2015.

What a great success.  Volunteer students came to the warehouse on Saturday and helped to clean and sanitize over 100 pieces of equipment.  Volunteers are an important part of what we do at Project MEND.  Without your help, getting medical equipment into the hands of our clients would be much more difficult.  You can be a volunteer any day.. not just on Volunteer Days.  We are always in need of someone to assist in answering the phones, cleaning equipment, confirming appointments with clients, or working on projects.
