BoardEffect portal orientation training is for nonprofit member organizations and those considering joining the Area Foundation's membership program.  

Our next BoardEffect Training will be held on:

BoardEffect is an online portal that streamlines board work and provides directors easy access to important information. This training includes an overview and tour of the portal, tips for management and administration of BoardEffect, and a Q&A/practice session.


Members: don't miss this month's "Leadership and Sustainability” webinar series.  Lynne Wester is a frequent conference speaker and is well known for her donor relations and fundraising expertise.  During this month's webinar, Lynne will be discussing Giving Societies. 

Monthly webinars are offered as part of the membership program and are restricted to members only.

Technology Seminar You Don't Want to Miss 



Join us for a full-day seminar on technology for nonprofits, in partnership with Microsoft Channel Partners San Antonio Chapter.

Whether you are someone who looks at computer wires and sees tangled spaghetti – or can single-handedly set up an entire network without a handbook, this seminar is for you! Join your nonprofit colleagues for a day filled with technology trainings, resource briefings, and innovative techniques to build (or refine) your organization’s technology systems.  This will be a unique opportunity to learn how to boost efficiencies across your organization and prioritize innovation to springboard your team’s success… and did we mention there will be prizes, including Office 2013, Windows 8.1 and more!

The International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners San Antonio Chapter and the San Antonio Area Foundation are able to offer this full day of training for only $75 per person, and organizations that send five or more staff members will receive a 15 percent discount.

Grant Opportunity!


 High School Completion Grantmaking Process for 2014


Through the San Antonio Area Foundation's High School Completion initiative, we make grants to nonprofit organizations serving 6th through 9th grade students in out-of-school time programs in Bexar County. The purpose of this program is to raise the overall rate of high school completion in Bexar County through programs that improve attendance, behavior and academic performance in school. Over the past three years, the Area Foundation has awarded a total of $941,000 in grants to 25 different nonprofit agencies.


The grant application is available on our website and the deadline for proposals is July 14th.
