Policy Lunch: Dispelling the Myths around School Breakfast

1 in 5     North Texas children struggle with food insecurity; meaning they
have limited or uncertain access to nutritionally adequate and safe
foods or uncertain ability to aquire acceptable foods in socially
                acceptable ways.

Please join CHILDREN AT RISK for our 2013 Food Policy Lunch:Dispelling the Myths around School Breakfast. This event will focus on policies that impact school breakfast programs and will bring together representatives from the school board, school personnel, students and community members to explore the trends and emerging issues surrounding this topic. In addition to the school breakfast discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to sample breakfast creations provided by local chefs and the young men in the Cafe Momentum internship program. These creations will not only be healthy, but will also meet the reimbursement guidelines given to school nutrition programs.
