Report from the Hearing and Presentations on Expanding Medicaid

Friday, March 8, was was a double-feature for Capitol watchers and health care fans. It brought both a hearing in the Texas House about whether our state should accept federal funds to cover more families on Medicaid and a presentation by researchers on what that would mean across our state. Health policy expert Anne Dunkelberg has the recap from both events on our blog. We've also included a video with some of the most compelling testimony from the hearing.

On this call, we'll share some of what's been accomplished already as friends of Texas Well and Healthy used our "Getting Leaders to Call Upon Leaders" toolkit to increase pressure from the local level on state leaders and get them to make the right choice, so more families have health coverage. We'll also debut a new tool available for local activism and let you know how to keep up the momentum!
