TUTS 2013 Gala is Sold Out!

We are thrilled to announce that Theatre Under The Stars Moonlight Serenade: Celebrating 45 Years Under The Stars Gala is officially sold out! We have been overwhelmed by the generous support of the community in ensuring the success of this event and helping to raise the much needed funds that support TUTS’ Education and community engagement programs!

Returning to Houston in celebration of the TUTS Gala are a number of stars that you may have seen on stage and screen. Houston’s own Brett Cullen, Brent Spiner, Sally Mayes and Bruce Norris, alumni of TUTS’ Humphreys School of Musical Theatre, exemplify the kind of talent this city generates and we are honored to have them as our guests on April 19!

While the success we have achieved so far is exciting, we still need your support in reaching our goals. The financial needs of TUTS’ programs far exceed the space limitations of our event venue. Your contribution to TUTS' Education programs can ensure that these programs will have the funding to continue to benefit the Houston community.

A Special Delivery for Area Students

For a second year, TUTS will provide local elementary school students with a Free Day of Reading and Musical Theatre. With generous support from H-E-B Tournament of Champions and Phillips 66, TUTS will offer three free days, which includes a free ticket to see The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Jr., a copy of the book The Original Adventures of Flat Stanley for each student, and transportation to the performance.

With the hope of encouraging children to read as well as introducing them to live musical theatre, TUTS’ Free Days of Reading and Musical Theatre will provide students from underserved neighborhoods access to the arts, at no charge to them or their schools.
Over the last three weeks, more than 2,900 books were delivered to eager second grade students. For many of these students, this is the first book they have ever owned and this will be their first trip to see live theatre.

On March 26, 27 and 28, nearly 3,000 students from 22 elementary schools representing Aldine ISD, Alief ISD, Galena Park ISD, Houston ISD, Lamar Consolidated ISD, Pasadena ISD, and Spring Branch ISD will participate in this exciting educational experience.

Thank you H-E-B Tournament of Champions and Phillips 66 for making this possible!
