Blair and Mills garden with Team Up students

Lowell Middle School's Science Club works to create a community garden

San Antonio Spurs DeJuan Blair and Patty Mills spent an afternoon getting muddy with Team Up Challenge students from Lowell Middle School.

The students are creating a community garden that spells out the name of their school, and working encourage their neighborhood to go green. The students got Blair and Mills' assistance in planting trees, spreading mulch and fertilizer, planting new produce and painting signs to identify what is growing in their garden.

Rampage Teddy Bear Toss

Thousands of Teddy Bears were thrown onto the ice at a recent Rampage game

The San Antonio Rampage held their eighth annual Teddy Bear Toss Night to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program and the Children's Hospital of San Antonio on November 24th vs. the Abbotsford Heat. 

The first 1,000 fans received a teddy bear, courtesy of H-E-B, and hundreds of fans brought their own teddy bear. All of those teddy bears hit the ice during the second period when forward James Write scored.

Alongside Marines, Jr. Rampage hockey players collected the bears off the ice. The Rampage players will deliver some of the teddy bears during their annual holiday visit to the Children's Hospital of San Antonio.

New outdoor court unveiled

St. PJ's children celebrate phase one of Inspiration Park

The kids at St. Peter-St. Joseph Children's Home received an early gift this holiday season. Silver & Black Give Back along witht he San Antonio Silver Stas, Manifest Foundation and the Nancy Lieberman Foundation teamed up to provide a new outdoor court.

The Dream Court was unveiled Tuesday, November 27. Former WNBA star Nancy Lieberman and Silver Stars head coach Dan Hughes were on hand to commemorate the event. The Dream Court will provide a safe place for the kids at St. PJ's to learn life skills, teamwork and the importance of play for years to come.
