Summer Team Up Challenge Champions

Three organizations receive $10,000 for their student led work

Silver & Black Give back announced the three champions for the 2012 Summer Team Up Challenge, presented by AT&T: The ARC of San Antonio, Destination Imagination and Wreaths Across America.

The ARC of San Antonio packed and distributed over 1,200 pounds of pet food to families on food assistance and home bound seniors who might not otherwise be able to feed their pets. They will use the $10,000 to continue the program throughout the year.

A Destination Imagination team from Forester Elementary partnered with Child Safe over the summer and renovated their sensory therapy room for children who have been abused. The group designed a mural for the room, installed new furniture and toys for the children. They will use the $10,000 to further enhance the therapy room.

Wreaths Across America has been fundraising throughout the summer to put a wreath on every veteran's grave in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery for the holidays. There are over 100,000 graves in the cemetery and the $10,000 award will go to purchase wreaths.

Join us in congratulating our champions! The 2012-2013 Team Up Challenge application is now available online. Visit to download the application today.
