We only have $970 more to go!!!

Maybe you heard. The Writer's Garret received an award notice for $750 from the
Texas Commission on the Arts for a pilot program that (unfortunately) requires more
funding in order to launch. "LifeLines" pairs aging seniors with their grandchildren,
who will help record the story of their lives.

Since last Thursday, we have raised $1,280 (along with the $750 award)--so we're
almost there. We have until THIS Thursday. Will you help?
Immigrant grandparents will have a chance to share their life's journeys, perhaps
in translation. Seniors struggling with Alzheimer's will find their memories reordered
and recorded to reach generations to come. Families, severed by long-standing emotional
rifts, will have a personal, creative reason to pull close together again. Participants
may share their stories and pictures on-line through The Garret website--inspiring
us all.

The full $3,000 will pay instructors and cover supplies, program coordination, and
project overhead (e.g., background checks, insurance, etc.)
We welcome all support to help make "LifeLines" a reality. Please make a donation
or call in a pledge to (214) 828-1715. You may also snail-mail a check to The Writer's
Garret, P.O. Box 140530, Dallas, TX 75214-0530 (but please email or call to let
us know that it is coming).
Thank you so very much!
