Auto Bailout Now Backed, Stimulus Divisive

But opinions are far less positive about two other major initiatives to bolster the economy - the 2008 bank bailout and the Obama administration's 2009 stimulus plan.

In its role overseeing consumer banking, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is closely examining how banks asses overdraft fees and the effects these often high penalties have on low-income customers. Pew has been calling for uniform, short, and transparent fee disclosure documents and supports the CFPB’s actions.
