Ballet Conservatory of South Texas

January, 2012

The Ballet Conservatory of South Texas (BCSTX), a prominent non-profit, pre-professional ballet academy and company located in Alamo Heights has announced the appointment of Mark Richter, Director of Operational Excellence at USAA, a Fortune 500 financial services company specializing in serving the needs of the United States military and their families, to its Board of Directors.

In his role at USAA, Richter drives superior customer satisfaction and operational efficiencies through process improvement. Throughout his 15-year career at USAA, Richter has had progressive leadership experience in both operations and training. He holds a BSBA from Creighton University and an MBA from Grand Canyon University.

“I came to appreciate the Ballet Conservatory of South Texas through my ten-year-old daughter. She has been dancing for three years and was
accepted into the Apprentice Company at BCSTX at the beginning of theseason,” says Mark Richter. “I’m thrilled to be part of this wonderful organization and look forward to serving its proactive mission of developing young and aspiring dancers while advancing the art of ballet in the San Antonio community.”

“Mark’s experience and background in facilitating operational procedures will play a critical role in further enabling BCSTX’s growth and development,” says Nancy Billups, BCSTX Board President. “His insights and expertise will complement the experience of the other members of our Board and be extremely valuable to BCSTX as the organization evolves.”

Richter joins the BCSTX Board of Directors alongside esteemed professionals:  Nancy Billups, Josie Paul, Madelon Yanta Leone, C.F.A., Stefanie Alvheim, and Melanie Cawthon.
