Deepak Chopra will discuss the understanding of consciousness and focus on the world’s current culture of violence and all the practical ways to experience higher consciousness, transformation and healing at 7:30 pm on Monday, September 26, 2011 in Laurie Auditorium at Trinity University. Tickets are required and are available through Ticketmaster or at the Laurie Auditorium box office. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and tickets will be distributed until all tickets are sold.

As the rate of domestic violence drastically increases in our community and around the world Deepak Chopra’s exploration of historical and cultural roots will provide the background for the formulation of possible solutions.  “Deepak Chopra is a global force in the field of human empowerment.  Hosting him is a wonderful opportunity for our organization and our community.” said Marta Peláez, FVPS president and CEO, “it is most appropriate for us to learn from Deepak how we can improve our community.

Deepak Chopra is the Founder and Chairman of the Chopra Foundation, and Founder and co-Chairman of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing in Carlsbad, California. Chopra’s Wellness Radio airs weekly on Sirius/XM Stars, Channels 102 and 155, focuses on the areas - success, love, sexuality and relationships, well-being, and spirituality. He is a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle and Washington Post on Faith and contributes regularly to,, and Huffington Post.

Chopra is known as a prolific author of nearly sixty books with eighteen New York Times best sellers on mind-body health, spirituality, and peace.  Dr. Chopra’s books have been published in more than eighty languages in both fiction and non-fiction. His New York Times bestsellers, “Peace Is the Way “received the Religion and Spirituality Quill Award in 2005, and “The Book of Secrets: Unlocking the Hidden Dimensions of Your Life” was awarded the Grand Prize in the 2005 Nautilus Awards.
