Walk of Heroes Family Fiesta Celebrates Pedro Garza

Southwest Key’s annual family fiesta celebrated the unveiling of the new Walk of Heroes and honored Pedro Garza for his substantial support to Southwest Key.  The fiesta included fun activities for kids such as pony rides and face paintings, while parents could browse booths set up by local organizations to give information about their services.

STEM Summer Enrichment Camp

Studies have shown that without summer enrichment activities such as travel and camp, students oftentimes lose a lot of what they have learned during the school year.  How can low-income families address this issue without having to spend a fortune on a summer experience for their child?
This summer, East Austin Prep is partnering up with the Boys & Girls Club and the KDK Harman Foundation to offer an innovative STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) summer camp for East Austin kids.  Along with traditional camp activities, students spend a portion of every day taking interactive and engaging science classes with weekly themes such as robotics and the environment.
