Our Littlest Texans
United Ways

April, 2011

An important bill concerning the earliest years of a child's life is making its way through the Texas Legislature.  House Bill 2269 (Strama) would better utilize current resources to improve child care quality and reward and retain child care providers that work to provide high quality care to the youngest learners in the Texas child care system.

E-mail House Committee on Human Services members and ask them to vote for HB2269!

Your voice is needed! Please e-mail members of the House Committee on Human Services, where the bill is currently located, and encourage them to vote for the bill.

Research shows that young children who start school (including as early as pre-k) with a good start are more likely to succeed in school.  Representative Strama's bill is a big step in the right direction for our littlest Texans.
