Lenten Fine Arts Series of concerts on Thursdays at noon in the Chapel. Schedule of musicians is available online.

April 14, Lenten Concert Series featuring Barbara Bamberg, piano & Marvin Gaspard, organ, with Rudy Martinez, poet

April 16, Stations of the Cross
A prayer experience in the Garden Labyrinth from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

April 17, Palm Sunday, Parade, Picnic and Egg Hunt, The festivities after Sunday School with the children’s palm parade to the Blanton Field. Adults can enjoy an outdoor lunch and live music from the Encounter Band while children participate in a cake walk, bounce houses, face painting and other fun activities. The Egg Hunt will follow at 12:15 p.m.  Dress casually, and bring your Easter baskets and picnic blankets! Tickets for Skeeter’s lunch, ($10 adult, $5 child, $40 per immediate family.)

Easter Offering Funds will be used to purchase supplies and materials, and subsidize staff support for mission trips.

April 10, Blood Drive from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Activities Center


Sunday, April 10, Easter Baskets for our Friends At Home will be available to be taken to our friends at home, those members who are unable to come to church regularly. Come by the Commons area anytime between 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Volunteers will be available to provide you with an Easter basket and the name and address of a friend at home

April 10 and 17, St. Luke’s Boy Scouts of Troop 46 are raising funds for summer camp by cooking and selling tasty hand seasoned 10-12 lb. briskets. The briskets will be pre-sold for $48 each in St Luke’s courtyard on April 10 and 17.  The cooked briskets can be picked up at the Blanton Building either Friday, April 29th (evening), Saturday, April 30th (all day) or Sunday, May 1st (morning).  Once again the scouts remind us that briskets may be ordered as donations for the Star of Hope shelter. April 16, Rummage Sale to Benefit Gethsemane Ministries:  Drop off your treasures at St. Luke’s Westheimer or Gethsemane Campus, then join the fun at the sale from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Gethsemane Campus. April 10, Life Together dinner and class led by Senior Pastor Tom Pace is an opportunity to meet staff members and learn about St. Luke’s mission and meaning of the membership vows. The class will meet from 4-7 p.m. in the Hines Baker Room. For information, come to the Connection Center Sunday morning or contact Mary Alaniz, 713-402-5015.

Bridges Academy of Fine Arts offers two spring workshops.

  • April 11-May 9, Get Your Book Done is a workshop led by Steve McCurdy that will focus on finishing and publishing the book “you know is in you.” Topics to be covered include the story structure and the basics of publishing. Cost is $150.
  • April 11-May 9, Jewelry Making with Joe Eason includes working with metals and semi-precious stones. Cost is $150.
