This year's Drive Into The Night Twilight Tee-Off presented by Park Place Lexus Grapevine was a smashing success! From the putting contest to start the evening to the midnight snack buffalo wings, a great time was had by all. Congratulations to our winners; Ray's Rascals had the low score, Cory Halliburton had the longest drive, Anthony Evans got "closest to the pin" and Mike Nelson, the husband of Senator Jane Nelson, won the putting contest. We'd like to thank all of our sponsors, volunteers and golfers for helping to make this a one-of-a-kind evening in Grapevine. We hope you had as much fun as we did! Plans are already underway for Drive Into The Night 2012, so click here to let us know that you want to be a part of Grapevine's only night golf tournament! | | Eagle Scouts Complete GRACE Projects GRACE has been blessed to be the beneficiary of three recent Eagle Scout projects. Eagles Tanner Jacobson, Slade Passariello and Spencer Tietjen each had projects that involved the GRACE Food Pantry property. Mr. Jacobson's project involved weedproofing the area around the pantry coolers and air conditioning equipment. The small fenced area was especially difficult for landscapers to maintain. Tanner and his crew removed all of the weeds, put down a base matting to prevent their return and installed white rocks above that to give the area a manicured look. Mr. Passariello's project involved building a signage and notice kiosk for the GRACE Community Garden. Mr. Passariello and his crew of 16 put in over 100 man hours in planning, constructing and finishing the new kiosk. The new structure will allow garden facilitators to post information about the garden, schedules or any other information they wish to convey to the community. Mr. Tietjen's project involved painting the two large steel storage containers that sit in the pantry parking lot. On Saturday, March 12th, Spencer and his crew applied a nice coat of gray paint to the containers to match them to the color of the pantry building. The new look makes for a much more harmonious appearance to the pantry property. All three Eagle Scouts should be very proud of the projects they've completed. Not only did they do an outstanding job, but they filled needs that would have cost GRACE thousands of dollars to complete professionally. We are very appreciative of the hard work that these fine young men have done and on behalf of the staff, volunteers and clients of GRACE, we say, "Thank you very much!" | | Transitional Housing Seeking Plants And Flowers Program Manager, Deborah Lyons is putting out a call for gardening supplies, flowers and plants to help beautify the grounds of our Transitional Housing complex. These donations would allow our clients to work together to make the area around their homes that much nicer. If you or someone you know can help out by donating a few items, please contact Deb Lyon at dlyons@gracegrapevine.org. | | | Reminders: Ways You Can Help We wanted to remind you of several on-going drives and benefits that you can participate in to help the people of our community.
