Amazing collars to be auctioned at!

SNAPshots 2010 is just a month away! Do you have your tickets yet? If not, buy them today on the SNAP website. This year SNAPshots features everything that made last year’s event so incredible, plus new features guaranteed to rock your socks off.

What could improve on last year’s event? How about an auction of one-of-a-kind collars designed by famous designers, artists, and celebrities? It’s called Collars for a Cause. The goal is to auction off as many unique collars as we can to raise money for SNAP spay-neuter programs. This is big, folks. We have collars from designer Nate Berkus, actor/musician Mark Salling, and comedienne Margaret Cho. We have collars from Baccarrat, author Katherine Center, and HGTV hosts Clive Pierce and Lisa LaPorta. We even have collars from Houston Mayor Annise Parker (rendered for her by artist Kermit Eisenhut) and the Houston Ballet. It’s so big that the collars won’t be auctioned just at the event. They are going to be auctioned online as well. You will be able to see many of them at the event though and place bids while you’re there. If you can’t attend SNAPshots however (perish the thought), you still have a shot at buying one! Full story.

Marley Makes Her Mark
SNAP San Antonio Clinic Reaches 25,000 Spay-Neuters

One of many pups sterilized at our 25,000th Surgery Celebration!
A client holds one of many adorable animals sterilized on the day of the 25,00th spay-neuter surgery at our San Antonio clinic. Each animal went home with a goodie bag.

The staff of the SNAP Spay-Neuter and Animal Wellness Clinic on Ingram Road in San Antonio recently sterilized Marley, their 25,000th patient. This milestone was reached just 125 weeks after the clinic opened. (That’s a bit less than two-and-a-half years.) This means that the clinic has averaged 50 dog and cat surgeries every day for four days of every week since opening in January of 2008. Marley was a 9-month-old German Shepherd puppy belonging to Ms. Kaila Nigh. Kalia was initially nervous about her dog’s surgery, but when she learned that Marley would be the clinic’s 25,000th patient, she said she thought, "Wow, they must really know what they’re doing." Full story.
