Pint-Size Science (Ages 4-6 yrs) 
Every Wednesday
2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Pint-Sized Science introduces your budding scientists to basic science concepts. Every month we’ll explore a different theme such as weather, animals, reactions, nutrition, and many more.  Free with museum admission.

October Monthly Theme:   “Staying Alive!”  This month, we will explore how we keep our bodies healthy and active and how animals adapt to survive in their environment!


Toddler Time (Early Childhood - 0-36 months)
Every Tuesday & Thursday 

2:00 p.m.
Interactive activities that build upon the fine and gross motor skills your child is developing. FREE with museum admission.


Reading Adventures (Pre-K)
Every Wednesday
10:30 a.m.
Reading Adventures is an early childhood program created and taught by experienced early childhood educators. The program strengthens language, listening and motor skills through story time, pretend dramatic play and multisensory activities. FREE with museum admission.      


Dots & Squiggles (Pre-K)
Every Friday

10:30 a.m.
Dots and Squiggles is an early childhood program created and taught by experienced early childhood educators. Fun and engaging lessons encourage children to experience a wide variety of activities that incorporate art, sensory exploration, movement, music, story time, and dramatic play. FREE with museum admission.  


FETCH! (Pre-K – Elem) 
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Hands-on science experiments for all ages!

Art Studio  (Pre-K – Elem) 
Every Saturday * 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Every Third Wednesday * 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Art Studio is a fun, hands-on activity space where children and parents or caregivers can create art together. Lively and well equipped, the Art Studio provides opportunities for exploring self-expression led by artist-educators. FREE with museum admission.

Join Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat for story time and fun activities in Dots and Squiggles.
The Man with the Yellow Hat will read Curious George’s First Day of School.

Drama Kids International presents an introduction to acting and participation in the creative arts with a kid-friendly workshop that encourages children to express their imagination through creative drama scenes.

Chalk It Up
Saturday, October 9

Make your mark and join visual arts students from Northeast School of the Arts in creating a chalk masterpiece on the sidewalk in front of the museum as part of this annual community event presented by Artpace. Chalk It Up is an opportunity for locals and tourists alike to appreciate and participate in our city's creative resources.

Special Performance by Estudio Cuatro

Enjoy a performance by Estudio Cuatro featuring the sounds of the Puerto Rican cuarto. Kids will have the opportunity to speak with the musicians and learn more about their instruments. For more information, visit:

Get up close and personal with the creeping, crawling, slithering animals that make their home at the New Braunfels Animal World and Snake Farm Zoo!

Make a Difference Day

Saturday, October 23


Make a difference in another child’s life.  Help the museum lend a hand to others by bringing in gently used winter clothing, disposable baby diapers or unused toiletries which we will donate to the San Antonio Children’s Shelter. While you’re visiting, make a thoughtful card to give to someone special!

Monster Bash! Halloween Celebration

It’s our first Monster Bash! Join us for lots of great Halloween activities in a safe and air-conditioned environment. Make eyeball slime and glowing Boo Bubbles in the Mad Scientist Lab, create your own treat or treat bucket and visit healthy kid-friendly trick or treat stations. Do the Monster Mash to the music of Leah White, 2009 Parents Choice Award for Best Children’s Artist and show off your costume in a SPOOKTACULAR fashion show.
Tickets $7 member/$9 non member
