    Bowkers Honored
    Idell and Gary Bowker
Idell and Gary Bowker were honored as 2010 Outstanding Older Americans
United Way's Area Agency on Aging honored three of Tarrant County's most accomplished citizens in observance of Older Americans Month, and GRACE's own Gary and Idell Bowker were two of them!  At a reception on May 11th, the Bowker's were honored as the 2010 Outstanding Older Americans for the entire county.  Presenters recognized their exceptional commitment to volunteerism and tireless efforts to give back to the community.
Until this year, the award had only been given to an individual.  However, it is rare to find a couple who seems to make giving back a competition amongst themselves!  From sitting on the Board of Directors, to volunteer case manager, to helping seniors in need, to being a friend to other staff and volunteers, it is safe to say that GRACE has been truly blessed by the Bowker's.  We are overjoyed for them and join the United Way, and all of Tarrant County, in recognizing their deep commitment to a life of service.
    Volunteer Spotlight: GRACEful Buys
GRACEful Buys volunteer, Froncie FooteFroncie Foote is an energetic octogenarian who comes into GRACEful Buys and shares her talents making sure linens, toys and children's books are neat, organized and ready to go.  She has volunteered since 2005 and has logged more than 900 hours! Froncie is a retired school teacher and a grandmother who believes in giving back to the community. She enjoys knitting, quilting and having a good laugh. Froncie is a true joy to have around our store.
Please join us in thanking Froncie for her many years of service!
    Development Team Welcomes New Director
    Zelinda Johnson
New Director of Development, Zelinda Johnson
After an exhaustive search, GRACE is pleased to announce the addition of Zelinda Johnson as the new Director of Development for GRACE!
Zelinda comes to us after spending eight years at the United Way of Tarrant County as a Director of Development. She and her husband, Don have two daughters and one grandson. She and Don live in Euless and are parishioners at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Bedford. Zelinda is also a service team member of the Magnificat Grapevine Chapter Women's Ministry.
Please help us welcome Zelinda to the GRACE family. We are all very excited to have her here with us!
Congratulations To The "Hardest Working Mom"
"Hardest Working Moms" at Grapevine MillsAt an event celebrating mom's this past Saturday, a committee of judges made up of local women announced Lorie Gravley as the winner of "The Mills Hardest Working Mom."
Ms. Gravely is described as "busy non-stop, seven days a week taking care of her children and her own mother. After Lories's father passed away last summer, she found out that her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She now spends her time taking her mother to several doctor visits every week. On top of that, she still cares for both of her children, while holding down an administrative job...and, working up to five evenings a week and sometimes on the weekends, providing child care services at Gateway Church."
The winning mom received a spa package from Gaylord Relache Spa and a Kirkland's Family Frame. Congratulations to Lorie Gravley!
We'd also like to thank Simon Properties and Grapevine Mills Mall for including GRACE in this wonderful event and all of the businesses who donated items to the live auction, as well as those in attendance who bid on them!
