Mark your calendars for the Nonprofit Management Forum, to be held on Friday, April 9, 2010, at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. Elizabeth M. Darling, President/CEO of OneStar Foundation, will deliver the opening plenary. Titled “Pass the Baton: Moving from Sprints to Relays in the Nonprofit Sector,” Darling’s plenary will discuss local and national perspectives on the nonprofit sector, and the sector’s transition from being seen as individual competitors engaging in charity to a robust social service delivery system where organizations “pass the baton” for greater impact. Featuring keynote addresses by Lester M. Salamon of the Institute for Policy Studies at The Johns Hopkins University and Robert Egger of DC Central Kitchen, the Nonprofit Management Forum will be an incredible learning opportunity for mem bers of the nonprofit sector.

Congratulations to OneStar Vice-President of Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility Rosa Moreno-Mahoney, Finalist for Austin Under 40 Awards
Rosa Moreno-Mahoney spends her workdays creating partnerships and connections to leverage service and volunteerism as one strategy to address pressing community challenges. However, in her personal life, she continues to uphold these values. As the former Chair of the national AmeriCorps Alums Leadership Council, Rosa has helped shape the landscape of the civic leadership community, both in Texas and across the country. She attended the 2008 CNN ServiceNation Presidential Candidates Forum with then-Presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama, followed by a ServiceNation Summit with over 500 national service advocates. In addition, she was selected to participate in the ServiceNation White Oak Retreat, a prestigious group of national service leaders convened to explore policy, societal and organizational pathways to expand the impact and scale of service. These are just a few of the many activities in which she has participated and led, championing the importance of volunteerism and service.
For both her professional achievements and her AmeriCorps Alums and other civic-minded commitments in her personal time, Rosa has been selected as a finalist for the Austin Under 40 awards. Join us in congratulating her!
