Executives in Action

Samaritan House is fortunate to have the services of ten highly qualified professionals over the next three months, thanks to a program called Executives in Action. EIA matches agencies such as Sam House with executives who are seeking employment and wish to complete volunteer projects using their skills and expertise in the meantime. The EIA volunteers are full of enthusiasm for Samaritan House after attending the Out of the Box luncheon in November.

New Grants Manager Joins Staff
Alison as Volunteer Coordinator in 2007

In November we welcomed Susan Essary to the Samaritan House staff as our new grants manager. Susan will be writing and coordinating funding proposals - a vital function as we move forward with improving existing programs and establishing new ones. Susan's prior experience includes almost 20 years of grant writing. Her most recent position was with Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance, working with housing providers in the Continuum of Care group.

Family Holidays
Monthly Newsletter January 2010
The end of the year is especially busy at Samaritan House, as volunteers, donors, staff and residents all pitch in to give the holidays a special shine. The inspiration we get from working together and from seeing residents enjoy a family celebration carry us forward into the new year, when there will again be plenty of opportunities to make a difference.

On this World AIDS Day we could truly celebrate the work of individuals such as Dr. Adams and Dr. Cal, and the entire Tarrant County community for envisioning and implementing some of the best HIV/AIDS resources in the country.

"Meeting the residents face-to-face made me much more aware of the human toll exacted by HIV/AIDS, both on individuals and on the community at large. I wanted to help," says Beverly Belle-Isle.
Family Holidays

Alison as Volunteer Coordinator in 2007

This time of year can be tough for many of our residents. That's when the Samaritan House family pulls together and makes sure the holidays are happy ones.

Our thanks to all who worked so hard and gave so generously to make 2009 a turning point for many of our residents. At the dawn of 2010, we look forward to exciting new projects and another year of progress for our residents and for the agency as a whole. There is a place for each of you in the Samaritan House family as we work together to rescue, nurture and launch the most vulnerable members of our community.
