    The Faithful Volunteers
    Kenn Mingus, GRACE Food Pantry
GRACE Pantry volunteers helping to sort items. What happens on the Saturday before the 3rd Wednesday of every month?  Mother and daughter teams from the Colleyville National Charity League come to the GRACE Pantry and prepare bags of groceries for distribution to Seniors in our service area.
The names change from month to month and year to year, but we know that we can always count on them.  This organization has been making the monthly trek to the Pantry for over 5 years.  It's dedicated groups like this that keep GRACE operating.
    Thank you Colleyville NCL!
    GRACE July MVP: Diane Yamane
GRACE July MVP - Diane YamaneDiane was nominated for the July MVP award for Exceptional Customer Service, Outstanding Attitude, Interdepartmental Relations/Teamwork and Excellence in Mission.  She has proven to be a true asset to GRACE from the moment she walked in the door!  Diane is a true pleasure to work with, and is always accommodating to any request presented, no matter what she is working on at the time.  She never complains and takes on new tasks readily and excels at them!  She also believes in the mission of GRACE, loves her job and loves working here.  Diane is ALWAYS willing to do whatever she can to help out - if she does not know how to do it, she will do all she can to learn and figure out how.
Diane really stepped up in the absence of a Controller by remaining positive and giving 200% to everything she has done and continues to do in order to make it through this transition time.  She is a shining example to all!
    Congratulations Diane!
This Is Not Your Typical Summer
    Bea Moralez, GRACE Bilingual Caseworker

Traditionally, summers are a time when Client Services is a little slower and the pace offers us a chance to "catch up" on things like updating forms and paper work while preparing for the Back-to-School campaign, Lion's Club sign-ups and the upcoming holiday season. It has also been the best time for staff vacations to be taken...not so this year! Client Services has been working diligently to keep up with the uncharacteristically heavy flow of clients. We have seen a record-breaking number of clients this summer. The high volume shows us that while the evening news  may be saying there are signs the economy is improving, those effects are not yet showing up in the lives of our clients and GRACE is working hard to meet the need.
We'd like to say many "special thanks" to our Client Service volunteers...Judy, Sandy, Kati and Jodi.  Without them, we could function as effectively and successfully as we have been able to do so.
    School Supply Distribution Kicks Off
Womens Division Members pose with School Supply recipients. Thanks to the wonderful ladies of the Women's Division of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, back packs filled with everything that students need to start the school year off right are making their way into the hands that need them. In fact, there were more than 580 students signed up to receive school supplies as of today! Several staff members from GRACE Client Services were on hand to assist with the distribution.
GRACE Client Services Manager, Carrie Acosta helps one of the families Thanks to everyone who made donations for this program and a special thanks to the leadership of the Women's Division, without whom, this awesome program could not happen.
